Info
The context behind the collection.
I’m Jason Hernandez (JRH), a photographer based in Los Angeles.
I take pictures of people and everyday life while I’m out and about. I started with film. Having to shoot it, develop it, and print it taught me to pay attention to the edges of the shot and make fast decisions.
My parents, like a lot of immigrants in the U.S., don’t travel because of the risk. I can’t bring them with me to the cities I visit, so I bring the cities to them.
Photographs hold slivers of time. Years later, they’re still there.
